Your hand feels itself perfectly well without the self getting involved. Buddhism famously teaches that there is no permanent, independent self. For many practitioners, this feels like a frustrating paradox. After all, if there is nothing to gain and no self to achieve it, what exactly are we practicing for? In this talk, Nicole explores the shift from owning an experience to simply participating in it. Through a guided physical inquiry, she shows what it feels like to release perception from the leash of the self and let life happen on its own terms. "If you enjoy what you're doing, if it's nourishing, if it's wonderful, then it doesn't need a purpose, it doesn't need to be analyzed." Tatsudo Nicole Baden is a Zen teacher. Her teachings combine traditional Zen wisdom with modern life. Subscribe to the Newsletter: Dharma Academy updates + upcoming events 👉 https://courses.dharmaacademy.com/dha...
