Guitar Center Drum-Off 2026 | Six Finalists. One Champion.

Join the energy of a capacity crowd at Guitar Center Drum-Off 2026 for “fills and thrills” as six finalists take the stage to unleash six explosive drum solos. Watch as hosts Bill Burr (comedian/drummer) and Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction, Porno for Pyros, Hellride) set the stage for these “drum legends in the making” and introduce the house band of Rob Trujillo (Metallica), Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver) and Dean Pleasants (Suicidal Tendencies). For its 2026 return, Guitar Center’s Drum-Off changed up the format. Rather than have each drummer blast off into a five-minute drum solo, each finalist started off performing a one-minute jam with the house band—choosing from a selection of instrumental songs that were written specifically for the competition. Then, Jonathan Fortson, Michael-Andrew Cornish, Christopher “CJ” Darden, Mitch Gorman, Caleb Robinson and Jake Ward each launched into their solo performances. “It has been ten years since we’ve been here,” said Perkins in his opening remarks. “Tonight is going to be incredible. We have great performances, celebrity judges and contestants that are going to blow our minds.” “I have to be honest,” added Burr. “The level you kids are playing at is beyond everything I watch [to learn drums]. You guys are unbelievable and very inspiring.” Guitar Center’s Drum-Off 2026 was sponsored by DW and Zildjian, and held August 20, at the iconic Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles.
