At 77, Roger Taylor Reveals the 5 Greatest Rock Drummers He Ever Saw

#RogerTaylor #JohnBonham #KeithMoon Roger Taylor looks back at five drummers who left a lasting mark on the way he hears and plays music. From the thunderous power of John Bonham to Keith Moon’s wild energy, Mitch Mitchell’s extraordinary jazz-influenced playing, and Ringo Starr’s natural feel for a song, each brought something different to the drums. These are the musicians who showed him that great drumming is about far more than speed or volume. One memory leads to another, from watching Led Zeppelin with Freddie Mercury to learning from Beatles records as a young drummer. But the most personal story belongs to Taylor Hawkins, the Foo Fighters drummer who looked up to Roger and became a close friend. Their conversations, shared plans, and the tour they never got to make give this reflection a deeply emotional edge. For Roger, these five drummers were more than influences. Their sound, spirit, and friendship are still with him. #MitchMitchell #RingoStarr #TaylorHawkins #Queen #ClassicRock
