Souris, Manitoba | What You Didn’t Know

Step back into the history of Souris, Manitoba. A prairie community shaped by settlement, agriculture, the railway, and the people who built a life along Plum Creek. In this episode of What You Didn’t Know, we follow the story from the arrival of early settlers in the 1880s, through the building of the flour mill, the growth of the railway and roundhouse, and the changes that slowly transformed everyday life on the Canadian Prairies. We’ll also visit one of Souris’s most recognizable landmarks, the (suspension bridge) Swinging Bridge and explore some of the traces of the past that can still be found today. These towns are more than buildings, railway tracks and old photographs. Their stories belong to the people who lived, worked and raised families here and preserving those stories matters. If you enjoyed the video, I hope I’ve earned your like and subscription. Sharing these videos also helps keep prairie history in front of a new generation. 🌾 Where are you watching from?
