This Amazing Campsite Only Opens 60 Days A Year 🏕️ (LAKE DISTRICT VAN CAMPING)

We’ve found one of the most limited-edition campsites in the Lake District — Barkbeth Farm near Bassenthwaite, which is only open for around 60 days of the year. It shuts until NEXT JULY on the 31st August, so get in quick! And naturally, we managed to pick the one weekend where pretty much the entire country was basking in 27°C sunshine… apart from us. 😂 Our van was away having repairs, so we arrived in a brand new VW California Ocean instead. It sounded like a pretty good upgrade at the time, but after spending a few days living in it, we’ve got some very honest thoughts about whether it’s actually worth the money. We also headed down to the local pub for tea in the rain, spent most of the day wondering why we’d chosen the Lake District when the rest of the country was basically on fire, and then somehow the weather completely redeemed itself with an absolutely epic sunset. And finally, after all that rain, we actually got to sit outside the van with a drink. Worth it?
