Jussi Bjorling : More great re-mastered stereo recordings : Five arias from 1957

These are extracts from recordings of two complete operas. Tosca (Puccini) Rome Opera House 18th July 1957. For those not familiar with Jussi Bjorling, he was born in 1911 in Sweden and throughout his career he was regarded as one of the world' greatest tenors and even today many still rate him as the best ever. He made many wonderful recordings, mostly operatic but many others of different genres. Unfortunately in 1960, just three years after he made these recordings and still at the height of his powers, he suffered a heart attack and died at the age of just 49.
