Knock twice, give the name at the door, and step down into The Blind Magpie. Somewhere below street level, behind a door with no sign, the house trio is already playing. The bartender is shaking something that isn't on any menu, the booths are red velvet, and nobody here is using their real name. This is the record that plays while it happens: clarinet, muted trumpet and saxophone over brushed drums, walking bass and piano, running from the first drink of the evening to the last one before the alley door. Best served with: • Focus & deep work • Reading & writing • Cocktail hour, wherever you are • Dinner for two • Late-night wind-down • Anything that goes better with the lights low 54 minutes, 18 tracks, on a looping speakeasy scene. Part of the Southwark Sounds Lounge series — a Prohibition-era cousin to Tiki Lounge: Sunset Escape, Tiki Noir and Lunar Lounge. ▬▬▬▬▬ TRACKLIST ▬▬▬▬▬ 0:00 Knock Twice 2:51 Coat Check, No Questions 5:27 The Usual, Mr. Smith 8:29 Teacup Gin 11:39 Corner Booth 14:45 House Band at Nine 17:49 Feathers and Pearls 20:58 Bootlegger's Stroll 23:36 The Parisian at Table Six 26:11 Amber Light 29:25 Juice Joint 32:34 Giggle Water 35:07 Lookout's Rag 38:06 On the House 41:11 Last of the Good Rye 44:28 Blue Smoke 47:38 Nobody Saw Us Here 51:00 The Alley Door ▬▬▬▬▬ CREDITS ▬▬▬▬▬ Artwork & animation — Southwark Sounds Composed and arranged for Southwark Sounds. Play it as background music for studying, working from home, reading, cooking, or setting the mood for a Prohibition-era cocktail party, a Gatsby night or a murder-mystery dinner. #Speakeasy #1930sJazz #LoungeMusic
