We have a new penguin chick!

In late June, a Gentoo Penguin egg hatched in the Penguins' Rock gallery! We're SO excited to welcome the newest addition to the colony! This little chick — sex, to be determined via a blood test this fall — is the offspring of a new pairing between veteran parents Flower (mom) and Blue (dad). In just a month, its size has increased 15-fold. Within a few months, it'll be nearly indistinguishable from the other adult Gentoos!
