In a post-apocalyptic future, the people of Labrador live under a rigid religious regime that demands genetic purity. Any deviation—be it a physical mutation or an unusual trait—is deemed a blasphemy and ruthlessly eradicated. Young David Strorm appears normal, but harbors a secret: he and a small group of children possess telepathic abilities.
As David grows older, the danger of discovery intensifies. When his cousin Petra reveals an even stronger telepathic gift, the group must flee to the Fringes, a wild and lawless zone populated by outcasts. Their journey becomes a race for survival—and a search for a society that might accept them.
This haunting adaptation explores themes of intolerance, evolution, and the fear of the unknown, blending science fiction with moral and philosophical depth.
