So, me and Steph have bought ourselves a 1989 ex Australian Army Land Rover Perentie!
37 years old, a 3.9L Isuzu diesel engine, four gears and pretty much zero luxury. What more could you want?
Welcome to episode one of The Perentie Project.
In this video I'm taking you for a proper look around our new Land Rover, diving into some of the history behind these vehicles and showing you some of the pretty ridiculous features they were built with. Including the fact they were literally designed to be lifted underneath helicopters.
We've got some big plans for this thing. A camping setup, fridge, auxiliary battery, snorkel and plenty of other upgrades to turn it into a proper adventure rig.
The idea is pretty simple. Build something that'll take us surfing, camping, climbing and exploring some of the more remote parts of Australia.
Absolutely no idea how this project is going to turn out, but that's half the fun.
If you own a Perentie or know anything about these old Land Rovers, I'd love to hear your thoughts on what we should do to it first!
Plenty more to come.
