I was asked if I have a main in this game, but I couldn’t reply to the comment, which is an unfortunate YouTube glitch that occurred with the Google+ integration but has never been solved. My answer is no, I don’t officially have one. Back in Mario Kart Wii, Rosalina in the Jetsetter was an unofficial one, but I liked using it as I could plow through bike users and defeat 9999 VR people with that combination. There’s nothing quite like that in Mario Kart 8, obviously—I still like using Rosalina, but I’ll use whatever I feel like, usually a character I haven’t seen too much of in a while. As you may have observed in my other online play videos, I don’t main anything in any game. I prefer to use the entire roster, as otherwise I get bored. The last time I had a real main was Ness in Super Smash Bros. Melee, but I grew tired of the game after about a year and a half and stopped playing for a few years, then got back into it using the whole roster, which kept my interest up to Brawl’s release. Anyway, here are the course counts, for your pleasure. The numbers in parentheses for the courses indicate how many ranks it’s risen or fallen, while the number in parentheses at the total indicates 40 more races have been added total. 1. Mount Wario - 60 (±0) 2. Toad Harbor/Harbour - 56 (±0) 2. N64 Rainbow Road - 56 (+1) 4. N64 Royal Raceway - 52 (±0) 4. N64 Yoshi Valley - 52 (+1) 6. Bowser’s Castle - 51 (-1) 7. Sunshine Airport - 49 (±0) 8. Thwomp Ruins - 48 (+2) 8. Shy Guy Falls - 48 (±0) 10. DS Cheep Cheep Beach - 47 (-2) 11. 3DS DK Jungle - 43 (±0) 12. Electrodrome - 41 (±0) 12. N64 Toad’s Turnpike - 41 (+3) 14. DS Tick-Tock Clock - 40 (-1) 15. SNES Donut Plains 3 - 39 (-2) 16. Mario Kart Stadium - 38 (+2) 16. Cloudtop Cruise - 38 (+1) 16. 3DS Piranha Plant Slide/Pipeway - 38 (-1) 19. Sweet Sweet Canyon - 35 (+1) 20. Mario Circuit (Wii U) - 34 (-2) 20. DS Wario Stadium - 34 (±0) 22. Dolphin Shoals - 33 (+1) 22. GBA Mario Circuit - 33 (-2) 22. Wii Grumble Volcano - 33 (+2) 25. Wii Moo Moo Meadows - 32 (-1) 26. Rainbow Road (Wii U) - 31 (-2) 27. Twisted Mansion - 28 (±0) 28. GCN Dry Dry Desert - 27 (±0) 29. Bone-Dry Dunes - 26 (±0) 30. 3DS Music Park/Melody Motorway - 25 (±0) 31. Water Park - 23 (±0) 32. GCN Sherbet Land - 21 (±0) Total: 1,252 (+40) It must have been a Mario Kart 64 type day. A few clarifications, but feel free to ask me any questions you have. Battle Mode does NOT count. Races you spectate (that is, as you enter a room) DO count. Races selected through a Random vote DO count. If you want to send me multiple tallies, start a new one each time. It doesn't matter if it's Worldwide, Regional, or Tournament. The size of the room is unimportant. Select whatever course you'd like. You, too, are a player, and your vote counts too. Race #5 GCN Dry Dry Desert This next request was to use Lakitu on the Sport Bike with Roller wheels and the (not MKTV) Parafoil. This is a ludicrously unbalanced combination, with miserable top speed, weight, and traction and insane handling and acceleration. I can’t help but feel like this was either a troll-request or a challenge-request, since I don’t think many people actually use a scheme with stats like these much online. I’d prefer the former, since it’s not like I blow past the competition whenever I play this game. Race #6 Mount Wario And yeah, that’s an incredibly immature Canadian player there. Probably a kid. I remember back when I thought dick jokes were funny. Did I not get enough speed to make that shortcut before the cave? Race #7 Toad Harbor Here, I use Toad in the Standard ATV in one of his home courses. I was given carte blanche on the wheels and the glider, so I picked the Crimson Slim wheels to make the stats a bit more balanced, with a slight emphasis on speed. As for the glider, I didn’t useit in either of these races, so it didn’t matter. Looks like it worked out well for me here, though when I was in 1st place, it was always an uneasy one. That’s absolutely fine though. I dislike overwhelming leads because they make for boring races. Race #8 GCN Sherbet Land Normally, I can play this course pretty well, but then again, I was having problems getting items as I was bumped away a bunch. Lag also tends to cause some players to look like they’re swerving wildly, a bad combination when they have revolving items and you’re gaining on them.
