This is Bekal Fort in Monsoon 🌿🏰 Built in 1650 by Shivappa Nayaka of Keladi, this is the largest and best-preserved fort in Kerala - spread over 40 acres right into the Arabian Sea. No palace inside, only pure defence. Zig-zag entrance, secret tunnels, observation tower and those huge laterite walls you see in the video. This walkway in my video is the main path inside the fort - in monsoon it turns fully green like this. And yes, this is where Mani Ratnam shot "Tu Hi Re" from Bombay movie 🎥 📍 Bekal Fort, Kasaragod - 16km from Kasaragod town ⏰ 8 AM to 6:30 PM #bekalfort Bekal Fort, Kasaragod | Kerala's Largest Sea Fort Bekal Fort is the biggest fort in Kerala, built in 1650 AD by Shivappa Nayaka. Made of laterite stone in a unique keyhole shape, it stands on a cliff overlooking the Arabian Sea. 355a History: After the Vijayanagara Empire, Ikkeri Nayakas reconstructed it, later captured by Haider Ali in 1763 and then Tipu Sultan. It was built only for defence, not for living - that's why you won't find any palace inside. 355a What you see in my video: The red laterite paved walkway The lush green hedges of monsoon The massive fort walls Best time to visit: October to February, but monsoon (June-Sept) gives you this green view. Entry: Rs 25 | Timings: 8 AM - 6:30 PM #bekalfort #bekal #kasaragod #keralatourism #kerala `Largest Fort in Kerala, Built in 1650, Still Watching the Sea 🌊🏰`
