Copy and Intonation: The tacit knowledge of Rainer Janke

Tacit, accumulated knowledge is essential for the intonaition of an organ. In this film, organ builder Rainer Janke demonstrates how to make copies of baroque and romantic flue pipes that maintain the sound of the respective era. Individual steps in this craft process can be fully appreciated; just as relevant is the accumulated experiential know-how in achieving historical sound.
