As OCC begins a new ministry year, Psalm 127:1–2 reminds us that faithful work and dependence on God belong together. We are called to plan, serve, lead, care, and take real responsibility for what God has placed before us. But we are not able to control every outcome. When we begin carrying our responsibilities as though everything depends on us, faithful work can become anxious toil. In Week 1 of our Form Us, Lord vision series, we look at what it means to work faithfully while trusting God with what only He can do and why Jesus’ promise, “I will build my church,” gives us freedom to serve without trying to carry the church ourselves. Our prayer for this series is simple: Lord, form us into the church You are calling us to be.
