Couple Spends 3 Years Building Their Dream Hillside Home | Start to Finish

What does it take to build your dream home from the ground up? For Jeremy and Jamie, it took three years of hard work, sacrifice, determination, and an unwavering dream of creating a beautiful, safe, and lasting family home on a peaceful wooded hillside. After living in an old trailer for years to save money, the couple finally began their incredible home-building journey. Unable to find a general contractor willing to take on their unique project, Jeremy decided to manage the entire construction process himself. The adventure began with heavy machinery clearing the land, removing an old cabin, and excavating a massive foundation for their new home. From there, the couple used insulated concrete forms (ICF) to create strong, energy-efficient walls, followed by a complex roof structure, spacious wraparound porches, and carefully planned living spaces. Working alongside skilled local contractors, Jeremy and Jamie faced countless challenges, including exhausting workdays, extreme weather, construction delays, and rising material costs. But they never gave up. After three long years, their dream finally became reality — a beautiful, durable, debt-free hillside home designed to protect their family for generations. This is more than just a house construction project. It's an inspiring story of patience, teamwork, determination, and turning an impossible dream into a real home.
