Canadian and world leaders react to CFB Wainwright incident

Political and military leaders in Canada and around the world quickly reacted to Saturday's incident at a military base in Wainwright, Alta. Prime Minister Mark Carney addressed the response efforts, saying, "I would like to thank those Albertans and Canadians who are giving blood, who are feeding and housing the emergency crews and who are providing solace and comfort to those in their darkest hour." The chair of NATO's Military Committee, Italian Admiral Giuseppe Dragone, issued a statement saying, "Wainwright is where Canadian soldiers, and so many allies with them, train for the hardest tasks of our profession. Canada does not carry this grief alone. All 32 Allied Chiefs of Defence stand with you and the Canadian Armed Forces." Our Ottawa bureau chief, David Akin, is in Edmonton and has a summary of the reaction. For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/12107057/c...
