747 RETURNS TO MANCHESTER - Atlas Air Smokey Landing and Incredible SPOOL UP Departure - July 2022

Thursday 7th saw the return of a Boeing 747-400 to Manchester Airport, the first time the aircraft type has visited since the retirement of Virgin Atlantic's B747's in 2020. Once a regular sight, the 747 is now a rare visitor, with only a few operators worldwide. Atlas Air is one of the few operators with 747's in their fleet and it was their job to take Manchester United to Bangkok for the start of their pre season tour. The aircraft arrived around 18:20 on Thursday evening, night-stopping and departing today (Friday 8th) at 18:30.
