English: Fuencarral is a railway station located in the Spanish municipality of Madrid; it is part of the Cercanías Madrid C-4 line. It falls within fare zone A—according to the Regional Transport Consortium—and is situated in the north of the city, within the Fuencarral-El Pardo district. It should not be confused with the Madrid Metro station of the same name, with which it has no connection, as they are located far apart.
Cercanías trains (series 446 and Civia 465) and a medium-distance 449 series train entering the Fuencarral depot. The station is part of the Madrid-Burgos direct railway line; although the line itself opened on July 11, 1968, the station was officially inaugurated on July 4, 1968. Following the creation of the Cercanías Madrid network, the station became part of the C-1 line. In 1996, the C-7b line was created, also passing through Fuencarral, and in 2001, service was expanded to include the C-10 line, which also runs through the station. Since January 2005—following the dissolution of the old RENFE—Adif has owned the railway facilities; the station is located between Chamartín and Cantoblanco.
In July 2008, with the inauguration of the second railway tunnel between the Atocha-Cercanías and Chamartín stations, the station became part of the C-4 line. This resulted in trains on their way to Madrid-Atocha Cercanías passing through Sol station instead of Recoletos station.
