3801 - "The Newcastle Flyer" - 19 & 20 September 2026

Welcome to a Rail Town Productions film, in this film we are featuring: Transport Heritage NSW's 2026 "The Newcastle Flyer". "The Newcastle Flyer" runs between New South Wales, Australia's two biggest cities of Sydney and Newcastle. Most commonly led by the "legend of steam" which a C38 class numbered 3801 in a 4-6-2 "Pacific" wheel arrangement built in 1943. The tour makes excitement as it runs the tour (in service part) unassisted. The only assistance given is in the Newcastle area in preparation for the return journey with heritage diesel 7344 of The Rail Motor Society.
