Alien's Lost Designs: Dan O'bannon's Alien

Alien begins with Dan O'bannon. He wrote Alien with Ron Shusett, and worked with Ron Cobb and Chris Foss before Ridley Scott and H.R. Giger came on board. What did the world of Alien look like under Dan O'Bannon? The Planetoid, the derelict, the Space Jockey, and the Alien all had a different look and feel, inspired by Lovecraft and the Red Planet.
