Red Ryder - Painting and Travel

Red Ryder - Pagosa Springs, Colorado Roger paints an old wooden school house on the property of artist Fred Harmon where a museum of Mr. Harmons work is located. This is where the famous Red Ryder comic was created. Many of Fred’s fine western paintings are on display along with the very first Red Ryder BB gun. Sarah talks with Fred Harmon’s son about his long career and tours the studio. Roger sets up his easel and uses acrylics to paint the brightly lit school house in the morning sun focusing on the use of light and shade to demonstrate the contrasting values bringing out certain areas of the painting.
