Guest Lecture on Comprehensive Study of Nucleophilic Substitution Reactions

ISL Pharmacy College organized a Guest Lecture on “Comprehensive Study of Nucleophilic Substitution Reactions” on 06 August 2026 at the Seminar Hall of the college. The session was conducted to strengthen students' conceptual understanding of nucleophilic substitution reactions and their relevance to pharmaceutical chemistry. Syed Nemathullah Hussaini, Associate Professor, MRM College of Pharmacy, served as the Resource Person and delivered the guest lecture. The session covered the fundamental principles of nucleophilic substitution reactions, with emphasis on understanding the underlying reaction mechanisms and the factors that influence them. The lecture provided students with a structured understanding of important concepts associated with SN1 and SN2 reactions, including their characteristic mechanisms and relevance in organic and pharmaceutical chemistry. The discussion also helped students connect the theoretical concepts of organic reaction mechanisms with their applications in the synthesis and modification of chemical compounds relevant to pharmaceutical sciences. The session provided an opportunity for students to learn from an experienced academician and gain a broader perspective on the importance of organic reaction mechanisms in pharmaceutical education and research.
