Welcome to Math With Imran! 📘
In this lesson of our Grade 6 Mathematics Complete Course, we will learn Prime Factorization step by step.
In this lesson, you will learn:
✓ Writing a number as a product of prime numbers
✓ Factor trees
✓ Different factor trees
✓ Repeated division method
✓ Prime factor form
✓ Using exponents in prime factorization
✓ Practice questions
✓ Homework
Examples:
Prime factorization of 12:
12 = 2 × 2 × 3
Prime factorization of 24:
24 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3
Using exponents:
24 = 2³ × 3
Prime factorization of 36:
36 = 2² × 3²
Prime factorization of 60:
60 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 5
Important idea:
Different factor trees can start differently, but they give the same prime factorization.
