We Couldn’t Keep Air in the Tyre… | Bluff Hut High Country 4WD

This one tested us. We headed deep into the Victorian High Country, making our way toward Bluff Hut! Not long into the trip, things took a turn. A tyre came off the bead mid-track, forcing us into a high-pressure trackside repair attempt just to get moving again. Somehow, we managed to re-seat it and get air back in… but that wasn’t the end of it. What we didn’t realise was there was a sidewall puncture. Every 10 minutes, the tyre would go down again. Stop. Pump it up. Drive. Repeat. Over and over. More than 15 times… just to make it to camp. Out here, there’s no quick fix — just problem-solving, pressure, and pushing through when things don’t go to plan. But that’s exactly what these trips are about.
