Cool Montgomery Hydraulic Scenic Elevator - Steinbeck Plaza - Monterey, CA

[Recorded 6-3-21] Here's another childhood elevator of mine! I finally got a good video of this one. I used to be scared of this elevator when I was little. There was a weird sensor/controller issue that caused the nudge-mode buzzer to sound constantly, even while the car was moving. Over the years, they fixed the buzzer but it was slowly dying because of constant use. The last time I rode this, you could barely hear it. Now, it's completely dead and replaced with an electronic chime. The bar on the third floor has since closed so that floor is locked off now. The elevator itself seems to be holding up well. It still has one of the quietest hydro motors I've heard. I believe this is a Montgomery but it could also be an OTIS. Here is my argument...It could be a Montgomery because it has CJ Anderson and the door track looks like a Monty one. It could also be an OTIS because of the GAL equipment and phone, and the escalator here is a vintage OTIS. Monty rarely used GAL but OTIS also rarely used CJA.
