Cassette/CD edition available from FIADH PRODUCTIONS https://fiadh.bandcamp.com/album/reve... Wraithstorm--featuring members of Judicator, Owlbear, Transgressive, and Soulmass--returns from a long slumber not as the funeral doom band they began as, but a melodic death metal band with desperate urgency, intricate melodic counterpoint, and apocalyptic themes and vocals. The second offering "Revenant" offers 10 original compositions and a deep cut cover of an Opeth classic to explore influences from the late 90's and early 00's brought into a modern context with tales of oppression, struggle, identity, and collective consciousness. Revenant invites you to explore death and how we experience it both alone, and as one. Videos were made for three singles - check them out below! Cataclysm System - Based in feelings of frustration with living under the rule of theocratic fascism and careless liberalism, from the perspective of a transgender person. The Ferryman - Inspired by Greco-Roman myths; particularly depictions of Charon and the underworld. Uniformity - Inspired by the television series Squid Game, which exists as both allegory and metaphor for the horrors of capitalist authoritarianism. Absolution Denied - Functioning as a foil to the negative sociopolitical outlook of Cataclysm System, this is a call to arms for class consciousness; to come together and overthrow our oppressors. Libitina ex Machina - Inspired by the video game Doki Doki Literature Club! A haunting exploration of the thin line between digital fantasy and perceived reality. Indifferent Stars - Loosely inspired by the book The Indifferent Stars Above: The Harrowing Saga of a Donner Party Bride. Set Ablaze - Draws from a variety of creation myths (primarily Greek) and stories of humanity struggling against the cruel machinations of the divine. The intent was to highlight the defeatist mindset that's been ingrained into societies since the beginnings of recorded history. Even as we cling to the hope that remained with Pandora, embrace the fire gifted by Prometheus, or reach for heaven's light like Icarus, we feel doomed to face punishment and failure, just like them. Everybody's Gone - Inspired by the video game Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. Shadows Beyond the Pale - Coming full circle from Cataclysm System and its counterpoint Absolution Denied, this is once again based upon the frustrating reality of oppression. It's about how transgender people's right to exist is being stripped away by government power, and our only lines of support, the communities we've built together via digital platforms, are being eliminated one after another. We dream of intersectional revolution and a better future for all humanity, but face overwhelming opposition from societies entrenched in multi-generational servitude to the status quo.
