England have won only three of their eight Tests this year. Australia were flying under Les Kiss until the All Blacks beat them twice. Adjust for who they’ve played and they’re basically level, but they play completely different rugby: England play through their 10, while Australia’s 9 and 10 touch the ball less than any 9 and 10 in the competition. I think the result depends on which England turns up at Twickenham, and I think there might be an upset. In this preview: • the numbers going in, and a 16-metric head to head • England get into the 22 more, but Australia finish better • Fraser McReight at the breakdown, and England’s kicking game • who has the ball and who does the kicking, jersey by jersey • Jorgensen, Ben Earl, Feyi-Waboso, Itoje and Genge • the safest lineout v the best lineout thieves • discipline: England get nearly two cards a game • why a half-time lead means less than you think • every result this year, every Test since 2020, and my prediction Every Round 4 game has its own preview.
