Meet BAMBIRD—a bird-inspired bamboo bicycle and passenger trailer that brings Filipino design, bamboo craftsmanship, and sustainable transport ideas to the streets. 🎋🐦🚲 This Bambike creation combines curved bamboo forms, handcrafted seating, and a hyperbolic paraboloid wing-like canopy. From its bird-inspired concept to a rolling adventure, BAMBIRD explores how bamboo can shape the way we move—and make the journey more fun. For me, experimenting with bamboo is about discovering what’s possible when design, local craftsmanship, and imagination come together. BAMBIRD is part of that ongoing journey: turning ideas into things we can build, ride, and share. Would you hop aboard? Tell us where you’d take BAMBIRD in the comments! 👇 I’m Bryan “Bambryan” Benitez McClelland, founder of Bambike, World Bamboo Organization Ambassador, and Doctor in Sustainability (DSus) student at UP Open University.
