A foreman who knew all sixty-two orders on his floor, never wrote one down, never got one wrong in nine years — and was not being nice, he was building something, and nobody could say what was different after he left. A woman with forty-one names in a book in a drawer since 1969, nineteen of them crossed through with a line and a year, which is the only record of that street that exists. A new manager who was completely right about the overtime, stopped it, saved a fortune, and broke the place. And the last bus at ten past eleven with the same nine faces, where everybody talks — unlike the morning bus, where nobody ever does — and the man who took a better job on days and did not know until afterwards that he would miss it. Voiced after the patience and plain speech of late-period British progressive rock. This is an original composed work created in the style of 1970s and 1980s British progressive rock.
