Distributive shock happens to children when there is abnormal distribution of blood flow and volume. PALS requires providers to be aware of the various types of distributive shock as well as their associated signs and symptoms.
This section of our PALS course outlines the proper steps to follow, including the appropriate medications to restore a child's health if they are to go into shock. Timely intervention is of the essence when treating pediatric shock victims.
