In today's animated story, we learn an essential real-life lesson about empathy, taking responsibility, and learning how to apologize sincerely when we make a mistake!
The story begins in a brightly lit dining room where Anna is happily drinking warm milk from her favorite blue ceramic mug painted with a yellow star. Suddenly, Tom rushes into the room zooming his red plastic toy rocket through the air. Ignoring his mother Chloe's warning to slow down, Tom carelessly bumps into the dining table, knocking Anna's favorite blue mug onto the floor and spilling milk everywhere!
Instead of taking responsibility, Tom mumbles a quick, insincere "sorry" over his shoulder and tries to walk away to keep playing. Mother Chloe stops him immediately, explaining that tossing out a quick word without looking at the person does not show true care for their hurt feelings.
Mother Chloe then teaches Tom the 3 Steps of a Sincere Apology:
Step 1: Make direct eye contact to show you care.
Step 2: Say sorry slowly and clearly while admitting your mistake.
Step 3: Offer to fix the problem right away.
