COP17 in Armenia: What Does It Mean for Us? | Green Agenda Armenia Podcast | Ep. 1

COP17-ը Հայաստանում․ ի՞նչ կապ ունի մեզ հետ «Կանաչ օրակարգ, Հայաստան» փոդքասթաշարի առաջին թողարկումն է։ «Կանաչ օրակարգ, Հայաստան» փոդքասթը ստեղծվել է Շվեդիայի կողմից ֆինանսավորվող «Կանաչ օրակարգ» ծրագրի շրջանակում, որը Հայաստանում իրականացնում են Ստոկհոլմի շրջակա միջավայրի ինստիտուտը (SEI) և Հայաստանի ամերիկյան համալսարանի Յակոբեան բնապահպանական կենտրոնը։ Փոդքասթը հարթակ է տրամադրում երիտասարդներին՝ Հայաստանի կանաչ ապագայի շուրջ քննարկումները նոր մոտեցումներով ու թարմ հայացքով հարստացնելու նպատակով։ Առաջին թողարկումը նվիրված է կենսաբազմազանությանը և Հայաստանում անցկացվող ՄԱԿ-ի Կենսաբանական բազմազանության մասին կոնվենցիայի կողմերի 17-րդ համաժողովին (COP17)։ Վարող Հռիփսիմե Հովհաննիսյանը և հյուրը՝ ՀԱՀ Յակոբեան բնապահպանական կենտրոնի կենսաբազմազանության հետազոտող, «Կանաչ օրակարգ Հայաստան» ծրագրի փորձագետ դոկտոր Արսեն Գասպարյանը, քննարկում են Հայաստանի կենսաբազմազանության առանձնահատկությունները, դրա պահպանության կարևորությունը և համաշխարհային նշանակությունը, Հայաստանի դերը COP17-ում և բնության պահպանության ոլորտում առկա հնարավորություններն ու մարտահրավերները։ Փոդքասթում արտահայտված տեսակետները պատկանում են խոսնակներին և պարտադիր չէ, որ արտացոլեն Շվեդիայի, Ստոկհոլմի շրջակա միջավայրի ինստիտուտի կամ Հայաստանի ամերիկյան համալսարանի պաշտոնական դիրքորոշումները։ Ծրագրի մասին «Կանաչ օրակարգ» ծրագիրը մեկնարկել է 2023 թվականի դեկտեմբերին՝ ՀՀ կառավարության, Ստոկոլմի շրջակա միջավայրի ինստիտուտի և Շվեդիայի միջազգային զարգացման համագործակցության գործակալության հետ համատեղ։ 2025 թվականից Հայաստանի ամերիկյան համալսարանի Յակոբեան բնապահպանական կենտրոնը ծրագրին միացել է որպես ծրագրի հայաստանյան բաղադրիչի իրականացնող գործընկեր։ Հայաստանը միջազգային պարտավորություններ է որդեգրել՝ իր քաղաքականությունը միակցելու «Եվրոպական Կանաչ գործարքին» և Հայաստան-ԵՄ Համապարփակ և ընդլայնված գործընկերության համաձայնագրին։ «Կանաչ օրակարգի» շրջանակներում նախատեսվում է աջակցել Հայաստանին՝ իր ազգային քաղաքականությունները համապատասխանեցնել դեպի ավելի կայուն և բարեկեցիկ ապագա ուղղորդող եվրոպական առաջատար չափորոշիչներին։ --- COP17 in Armenia: What Does It Mean for Us? This is the first episode of the Green Agenda Armenia podcast series. The podcast was created within the framework of the Sweden-funded Green Agenda project, implemented in Armenia by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and the American University of Armenia (AUA) Acopian Center for the Environment. The podcast provides a platform for young people to bring fresh perspectives and new approaches to discussions about Armenia's green future. The first episode focuses on biodiversity and the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), taking place in Armenia. Host Hripsime Hovhannisyan is joined by Dr. Arsen Gasparyan, biodiversity researcher at the AUA Acopian Center for the Environment and biodiversity expert for the Green Agenda Armenia project. Together, they discuss the unique characteristics of Armenia's biodiversity, the importance of its conservation and its global significance, Armenia's role at COP17, and the opportunities and challenges related to nature conservation. About the Project The Green Agenda project was launched in December 2023 in cooperation with the Government of Armenia, the Stockholm Environment Institute, and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). In 2025, the AUA Acopian Center for the Environment joined the project as the implementing partner for its Armenian component. Armenia has undertaken international commitments to align its policies with the European Green Deal and the EU–Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The Green Agenda project aims to support Armenia in aligning its national policies with leading European standards that promote a more sustainable and prosperous future.
