What happened to Rhodes Island? The Arknights story Endfield never shows you

Arknights Endfield calls Rhodes Island the beginning of everything and never shows it, so we tell the whole story from the first Arknights: a pharmaceutical company on a landship, a queen's promise, a ten-thousand-year-old machine and a starship, from both games.
