hi hi !!! thank you for watching my video („• ֊ •„)੭ *something to note about my SAT score: In the fall when I was applying I was actually really stressed about my score and felt it wasn’t high enough. Most people you see getting into the schools I was applying to have higher scores than me (like 1500+). And looking at the data, I was below the median score for my top school (Yale). This stressed me out a lot and I felt like my SAT was a weak spot in my application. I was actually planning on retaking it in August but then rescheduled for September and then eventually canceled. All this is to say my application could have been stronger with a higher SAT, but it obviously wasn’t necessary and I’m glad I focused my time on getting high grades for my first semester, writing my essays, engaging in my extracurriculars, and spending time with friends. The SAT and other standardized tests can be really stressful, but just remember to try your best on it and know that it isn’t the only thing schools are looking at. Good luck! I never watched (and honestly actively avoided) these type of videos when I was preparing for and applying for college, but I hope it could be helpful! Please remember to try not to compare yourselves to people you see online and your classmates and to take care of yourself during and after the application season! Honestly I don’t think my stats were anything crazy… having good grades and leadership was definitely good but I think it is most important how you share your story and your values in your essays.
