HOW LONG IS A LIFETIME

When you're 70 plus GST, and mates seem to be dropping like flies around you, you can't help pondering some of life's bigger questions. Most of them have lived what we'd call full and rewarding lives. They've loved, laughed, worked hard, raised families, travelled and collected a lifetime of memories. But I'd hazard a guess that every one of them still had a list of “gunna-dos” — those things they were gunna do, places they were gunna visit, and words they were gunna say. Which got me thinking. How long is a lifetime? Is it measured by the number of years we're given, or by what we manage to pack into those years? And what about those who never get the chance to grow old? These thoughts became my latest original song, How Long Is a Lifetime? It's a reflection on life, loss, love and the one thing we can influence — how we choose to spend the time we've got. Is it the length of life, or the depth of life that really matters? I'll leave you to answer that question. “For the mates we've lost, and the moments we shared.”
