After 1 Year, This 53-Year-Old Mercedes Is Finally Back on Its Wheels

This episode covers the installation and final setup of the front and rear subframes on the 1973 Mercedes R107. Before installation, several remaining chassis components and mounting areas were restored, refinished and prepared for assembly. The subframes were aligned, installed and torqued to the correct specifications, together with the differential mounts, steering-related components and other suspension hardware. The car was then lowered back onto its wheels after spending approximately one year on the rotisserie. The final step was restoring the chassis areas previously used as rotisserie mounting points, including epoxy primer, polyurethane seam sealer and underbody coating.
