For 88 days, thirteen-year-old Jayme Closs was missing. The man who had killed her parents was keeping her in a house in northern Wisconsin—and hiding her beneath his bed when visitors arrived or he went out.
On January 10, 2019, Jayme found a way out. But leaving the house was only the beginning. Reaching help did not end the danger: her captor returned and began looking for her.
This TINY EXIT documentary follows the search, the threats used to keep her hidden, the steps of her escape, and the two encounters on the road that connect the beginning and end of her story. It draws on the criminal complaint, contemporary reporting, and Jayme's statement read at sentencing.
