Élève de Saïd El-Mendassi, son œuvre, à l'instar de celles d'autres poètes melhoun célèbres tels que Boumédiène Bensehla et Mohammed Benmsayeb, offre un éclairage précieux sur les coutumes, la langue et les mentalités de son époque. L'oubli progressif de sa mémoire au fil des siècles a failli faire disparaître une grande partie de son héritage. Heureusement, sa poésie et ses compositions musicales ont été préservées grâce à la transmission orale du modèle poétique et musical Hawzi. Son génie poétique était très apprécié de ses contemporains, Mohammed Benmsayeb le qualifiant d'« excellent génie ». Ses contributions demeurent essentielles à la compréhension de l'histoire culturelle et artistique de l'Algérie. كان أحمد بن تريكي شاعرًا جزائريًا بارزًا في القرن السابع عشر، وأحد أوائل ملحني طبع الموسيقي الحوزي الجزائري . تتلمذ بن تريكي على يد سعيد المنداسي، ويُقدم عمله، شأنه شأن أعمال شعراء الملحون البارزين الآخرين مثل بومدين بنسهلة ومحمد بن مسيب، رؤى قيّمة حول عادات ولغة وعقليات عصره. ونظرًا لطمس ذكراه تدريجيًا على مر القرون، كان جزء كبير من إرثه مُعرّضًا لخطر الضياع. ولحسن الحظ، حُفظت أشعاره ومؤلفاته الموسيقية من خلال التناقل الشفهي لنموذج الحوزي الشعري والموسيقي. وقد حظي بنتريكي بتقدير كبير من معاصريه لعبقريته الشعرية، حيث أشاد به محمد بن مسيب واصفًا إياه بـ"العبقري الفذ". ولا تزال إسهاماته ذات أهمية بالغة في فهم التاريخ الثقافي والفني للجزائر. Ahmed Bentriki was a prominent 17th-century Algerian poet and one of the earliest composers of the Hawzi musical style. A student of Said El-Mendassi, Bentriki’s work, like that of other notable melhoun poets such as Boumédiène Bensehla and Mohammed Benmsayeb, offers valuable insights into the customs, language, and mentalities of his time. Due to the gradual erasure of his memory over the centuries, much of his legacy was at risk of being lost.
