PUBLIC SERV-CE presents THE REST IS NOISE - Spring/Summer 2027. Filmed during New York Fashion Week at ARTE MUSEUM NEW YORK, the SS27 runway show brings together fashion, music, art, architecture and sound in an immersive environment of digital art, moving image and light. THE REST IS NOISE is conceived in response to a world saturated by information, images, threats, opinions and constant transmissions. Rather than escaping the noise, PUBLIC SERV-CE enters it and searches for clarity within it. For SS27, empowering clothing, emotional workwear, tailored sportswear and cultural uniforms are dismantled and reconstructed through unexpected proportions, engineered volumes, luxurious fabrications and functional detailing. The collection explores the tensions at the core of PUBLIC SERV-CE: UNIFORM vs INDIVIDUALITY PHYSICAL vs DIGITAL INSTITUTION vs UNDERGROUND FUTURE vs ORIGIN CONTROL vs CHAOS SILENCE vs NOISE For THE REST IS NOISE, PUBLIC SERV-CE collaborated with artist JNR CHOI as Music Director and Executive Producer of an original six-track EP conceived as the complete soundtrack to the show. The project began in-house at PUBLIC SERV-CE with the concept, lyrics and composition of the title track THE REST IS NOISE. From his Miami studio, JNR CHOI developed that original piece into a six-track project - a parallel expression of the collection through words, beats and sonic emotion. SS27 also sees PUBLIC SERV-CE enter into dialogue with Zaha Hadid Design through eyewear and jewelry, bringing its approach to form, architecture and futurism into the silhouettes. The collection marks the introduction of footwear to PUBLIC SERV-CE and a return to the discipline where founder and Creative Director Raphael Young began his career. In the week preceding the show, PUBLIC SERV-CE took residence in a 35th-floor penthouse at One Wall Street, transforming the space into its temporary New York studio for castings, fittings and the final construction of the show. THE REST IS NOISE proposes clothing as cultural equipment for navigating the contradictions of contemporary life. We create uniforms for individuals. A uniform without conformity. A system without obedience. A collective without the loss of the individual. We cannot stop the noise. We can decide what we listen to.
