Expedition in Time: Trilobite Hunting Before Winter's Icy Grip

I anticipated the impending cold weather, realizing that my window for exploration would be limited in the coming weeks. Undeterred, I gathered my tools and set out for the familiar trilobite hunting ground. Despite the seasonal risks of freeze and thaw, along with looming overhead boulders, the rewards have consistently justified the venture. My optimism stems from the belief that the recent bouts of freezing temperatures and rainfall might induce rock fissures, presenting new pockets for exploration come spring. #fossils #trilobite #rockhounding #rockhound #illinois
