Why I Canoe Camp Alone

Why do I canoe camp alone? Sometimes the best answer is simply to experience it. Join me for five peaceful minutes of solo canoe camping deep in the Adirondack wilderness during one of the most beautiful times of year. With autumn colors at their peak, I paddle across a remote Adirondack pond, set up camp, gather firewood, cook dinner, do a little fishing and settle in beside the fire for the night. For me, this is what solo canoe camping is all about. Simplicity. Solitude. And the chance to slow down and enjoy the wilderness.
