This year, the traditional Nabanna Bhakshana ritual at the Maa Manikeswari shrine is scheduled for September 22. Ahead of the festival, Bhawanipatna witnessed a busy final market as people arrived early to shop for new chuda, puja items, earthenware, kula-dala, vegetables and new clothes.
