“From Singapore to the North Korea Border… Then Our Car Got Stuck in -21°C Snow! ❄️😱” #northkorea

‪@Discover_SG‬ Welcome to Discover_SG! This is Day 6 of our Singapore to Harbin & Jilin winter adventure in China. In this episode, we travel from Yanji to one of the most fascinating and rare locations in the world — the China–North Korea border, separated by the beautiful Tumen River. Standing at this powerful international border was truly an unforgettable experience. From the Chinese side, we could even see houses in North Korea and spotted a man walking in the snow on the North Korean side. During our visit, Chinese border security officers approached us for a routine check. At first we thought they were asking money for using binoculars, but later we realized they were actually China border security officers. They politely checked our details, welcomed us warmly, and even offered us hot water and coffee at a nearby restaurant. They told us that very few Indian visitors come to this remote border region, making the experience even more special for us. After that, we continued our journey through beautiful snowy villages, forests, and mountain roads towards the Changbai Mountain Hot Spring Hotel. But suddenly something unexpected happened… Because of heavy snowfall, our car got stuck in the middle of a snowy forest mountain road after nearly two hours of driving. The road was too slippery for the car to climb. Our heartbeats started rising as we were surrounded by deep snow and mountains. Finally, for safety reasons, we decided to turn back and change our plan. Instead, we headed to the Changbai Mountain Hot Spring Hotel to continue our journey. Travel is always full of surprises, and this was definitely one of the most intense and memorable experiences of our winter trip.
