EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE THE APOTHECARY DIARIES SEASON 3

This is everything you need to know before The Apothecary Diaries Season 3: the story of Seasons 1 and 2, recapped and explained. Maomao is a young apothecary who was kidnapped and sold into the Emperor's rear palace. There, she exposes a so-called curse on the royal babies: a white face powder made with lead. That discovery draws the attention of Jinshi, the beautiful eunuch who runs the rear palace. From then on, he keeps bringing her new cases. The video starts at the Verdigris House, where her story begins. It introduces Lakan, the strategist father she refused to claim, and Luomen, the banished physician who raised her. It follows the plots against Jinshi, from the accidents in the outer court to the feifa fired at him during the royal hunt. It explains Suirei's resurrection medicine, the Shi clan's rebellion and the truth about Loulan and Shisui. It also looks at the real Edo-period study that found lead poisoning in the children of samurai families. Then it sets up Season 3: the locusts, Loulan's warning of disaster, and the rumors about Bai Niangniang, the immortal maiden. Season 3 picks up the light novels at volume 5. It is also the first season without Jinshi's eunuch title, so the video covers where Maomao and Jinshi stand now. Expect full spoilers for Seasons 1 and 2 of The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) anime.
