Why Does the Moon Change Shape? 🌙 Science for Kids | Curio Cabinet

Some nights the Moon is a big round circle, and some nights it's a skinny little smile. Why? Open the Curio Cabinet and find out! Meet Luna, our Moon. Discover why moonlight is really sunshine, why the Sun always lights up half of the Moon, and how Luna's trip around the Earth gives us the new moon, crescent, half moon, and full moon. 🌙 TRY IT AT HOME (with a grown-up!) Make your own moon phases! In a dark room, turn on a lamp. Hold a ball out in front of you and slowly turn in a circle. Watch the light on the ball change, just like the Moon! 0:00 Open the Curio Cabinet 0:16 Meet Luna: moonlight is sunshine 0:30 The sunny half & Luna's trip 0:51 New moon, crescent, half moon 1:07 Full moon, and back again 1:30 Fun fact: the Moon's far side 1:43 Try it at home: lamp and ball 1:56 Let's remember!
