We thought we could just walk down to the beach, cast a line, and catch our lunch... but the reef had other plans! 🌴🐟 Huge thanks to our friend Ruslan for gifting us this amazing fishing gear. After spending the evening setting up the rods, reels, and tying on fluorocarbon leaders, Borya and I hit the water with high hopes. We only brought rice for lunch, expecting a massive catch. Instead, we battled snagged lines, harsh sun, and I even had to dive into the coral to rescue our new lures! It turns out catching massive fish right off the shore is a bit harder than the island dream makes it look.
