Real Conductor Reviews the VR Game Maestro

I’m a real choir conductor, and in this video I’m testing the VR conducting game Maestro. Can a VR game actually feel anything like real conducting? Is it just a fun gimmick, or does it capture something genuine about leading an ensemble? As someone who spends a large part of life conducting choirs, rehearsing music, and thinking about gesture, communication, sound, and musical leadership, I was very curious to see what Maestro gets right, what it gets wrong, and whether it is actually fun to play. This is partly a review of the game itself, but also a deeper look at what sets it apart from real conducting. Because conducting is about much more than waving your arms around. It is about pulse, intention, sound, leadership, listening, and communication, and that is exactly why a game like this is so interesting.
