On the longest day of the year, a sleepless printer from London boards a train to a quiet Cotswolds inn — a place where, they say, everyone sleeps.
Tonight's gentle Victorian sleep story follows Edmund Hale to The Wren and Willow, a honey-stone inn at the edge of the downs, kept for thirty-five years by the quietly wise Margaret Ashwood. There is lavender in the garden and fresh bread in the kitchen. There are lanterns in the apple tree, chamomile tea at dusk, warm milk with honey and nutmeg, and a nightingale singing somewhere in the hedge. And on midsummer eve, the whole village gathers in the garden as a fiddle plays the light away.
No jump scares. No plot twists. No music. Just a soft British voice, the slow rhythms of a Victorian summer evening, and a story designed to help you drift into deep, restful sleep.
🌙 Best enjoyed with the lights off and the volume low. If you fall asleep before the end — that was the plan all along.
