After taking Rukmini away from Vidarbha, Krishna is confronted by her furious brother Rukmi. Rukmi had sworn that he would not return home without defeating Krishna and bringing Rukmini back. But the confrontation ends disastrously for him. Krishna overpowers Rukmi, binds him and humiliates him by shaving portions of his hair and moustache, leaving the proud prince publicly disfigured.
