Welcome to this Sukkot devotional — the Season of Our Joy. In this teaching, we explore what it means to dwell with Yah during Sukkot, both in a physical sukkah and in the deeper “heart sukkah” every believer is called to build.
Many of us live in places where outdoor sukkahs are difficult to use, especially in colder climates. Some build sukkahs on porches or patios, some camp, and some create beautiful indoor sukkahs. No matter where we live, most of us can obey the command to build a physical sukkah — it doesn’t have to be fancy or perfect. It simply needs to be intentional.
But Sukkot is more than sitting under branches. If we build a sukkah with our hands but never build one in our hearts, we miss the meaning.
In this devotional, we talk about:
🌿 Building a physical sukkah with intention
🌿 Building a heart sukkah where Yah is welcomed
🌿 Sukkot as a pilgrimage feast — a time of gathering
🌿 Practicing hospitality, especially for those new to biblical feasts
🌿 Dwelling with Yah in simple, joyful, meaningful ways
🌿 Remembering His covering, His presence, and His joy
Sukkot reminds us that Yah dwells with us — and we get to reflect His heart by dwelling with one another.
Whether your sukkah is outdoors, indoors, small, simple, or creative, Sukkot is about joy, presence, remembering, and anticipation.
